We serve all veteran and military service members, spouses, and dependents that will serve as a collaboration space connecting them further into the community and/or with other Veteran Service Organizations.
This position reports to the Community Outreach Director. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented, energetic, self-disciplined, and tenacious veteran ambassador with a clear understanding of the needs of veterans and their family members within the community on a cultural, social, and economic level.
He or she will have demonstrated effective communications skills, good time management, personal accountability, and understanding, and participates in process improvement and interpersonal skills to support the 5 core navigation services the chamber provides to all veterans, their family members, and community partners and working with a primarily remote team.
Summary
The Workforce Navigator is a professional mentor/coach who works directly with the military and civilian communities in Idaho. The goal of the Navigator is to support the navigation network hub for veterans, military serving members, and their families in matching community resources for education, housing for heroes, Veteran & family-owned businesses, workforce transition, and family & wellness services to identify their needs.
The Workforce Navigator will work closely with the Workforce Committee, Employers, Educators, Military and Veterans Services Organizations, and Career Seekers. The employers and career seekers will be the primary clients served through navigation support, education, awareness, and work-based learning initiatives.
Job Requirements

Administrative support for Workflows in the Employer Navigation Services and Career Navigation Services.

Community Outreach support to register for our Veteran and Family Employer Network and career seekers.

Administrative support for any focus groups established by the workforce or education steering committees.

Manage Marketing materials for workforce services, networks, and resources.

Administrative Website maintenance for Workforce Management services and networks.

Administrative support for setting up workshops and events.
-
Maintain a calendar of outreach activities, including community events, workshops, appearances, speaking engagements and other opportunities.

Maintain the Education & Workforce Resource Guide.

Administrative support with Workforce Partnerships.

Pull Reports weekly for tracking current status of navigation services and community outreach efforts for employers and career seekers.

Create and continuously promote career seekers qualifications and those searching for work through social media and virtual communications platforms.

Attend Workforce & Education Steering Committee Meetings, administrative support as needed.

Special Projects as assigned.

This position reports to the Executive Director. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented, energetic, self-disciplined, and tenacious veteran ambassador with a clear understanding of the needs of veterans and their family members within the community on a cultural, social, and economic level. In addition, the Navigation Services Director will supervise/mentor and deliver high-level training to Navigation Team members and fill the gaps during position vacancies.
He or she will have demonstrated operations management, leadership experience, public speaking skills, project management success, personal accountability, community partnership visionary skills, process improvement, and interpersonal skills to support 3 of the 5 core services the chamber provides to all veterans, their family members and community partners.
SUMMARY
The navigation services director will serve as an executive leadership team member who works directly with the military and civilian communities in Idaho. In addition, they will support the navigation network hub for veterans, military serving members, and their families in matching community resources for Entrepreneurship, Workforce Management, and Education Navigation Services. The Director will provide oversight for day-to-day operations for navigation services in 3 of the 5 areas of navigation while the Executive Director will support the navigation services for housing, family, and wellness to ensure the effectiveness of support is delivered to both the Idaho and Military community.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Ensure standards and compliance metrics are met for Federal and State Grants.

Prepare and manage an annual budget for community outreach activities.
-
Holder of Organization Purchase Card to support navigation services, events, and requests for funding from navigation team members.

Manage records and reports on the goals of navigation services through Customer Relationship Management Database.

Support 3 Steering Committees, entrepreneurship, education, and workforce management.
-
Supervises/mentors, onboards, & trains Navigation Team Members as needed.
-
Continuously evaluates process improvement, workflows, and compliance.
-
Represent the organization in the absence of the Executive Director.
-
Assist the Executive Director in supporting networking & community events, conferences, and summits as needed.
-
Serve as an advocate and liaison between the chamber and community agencies and the populations served through community outreach efforts.

Works with partner organizations and agencies as needed to assist with services development and implementation.

Monitor navigation services experience

Maintains a calendar of outreach activities, including community events, workshops, appearances, and other opportunities.
