Nampa, Idaho — The Idaho Veterans Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce it has been awarded a $10,000 grant from the HDR Foundation to support the development of its Tiny Homes Project—an innovative initiative aimed at creating affordable, supportive housing solutions for veterans in their next steps in transitional housing options taking them closer to buying their own home after defeating the odds of homelessness. The Chamber will be presented with the grant at the location of where the first two tiny homes are being built by the West Center for Technical Education High School Construction students, at Owyhee High School on April 16th at 9:30 AM.
In addition to the financial contribution, the HDR Foundation has also provided valuable in-kind services through their professional expertise in developing the official rendering of the Tiny Homes Village. This detailed visual representation will be used in planning, fundraising, and community outreach efforts as the Chamber works to bring this critical project to life.
“This grant from the HDR Foundation is a significant step forward in our mission to serve Idaho’s veteran community,” said Mindi Anderson, Executive Director of the Idaho Veterans Chamber of Commerce. “Not only have they invested financially, but their team has also contributed time, talent, and professional insight in helping us design a vision for what’s possible. Their belief in this project reaffirms the power of community-driven partnerships”.
The Tiny Homes Project will provide transitional and long- or short-term housing in a community-style setting, offering wraparound services such as workforce development, mental health support, and reintegration services. The project is part of the Chamber’s broader mission to support veterans and their families across Idaho in achieving stability, purpose, and belonging through the free navigation services.
