Idaho Veterans Chamber of Commerce Announces Tiny Home Giveaway for Idaho Veterans or Spouse Farmers and Ranchers

From: Idaho Veterans Chamber of Commerce

Boise, Idaho - January 13, 2026 — The Idaho Veterans Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the West Ada School District Center for Technical Education (CTE), is proud to announce the giveaway of two tiny custom-built homes for Idaho veterans or veteran spouses who are farmers or ranchers. This groundbreaking initiative is part of the Chamber’s broader commitment to advancing affordable workforce housing solutions and investing in both veterans and the future workforce of Idaho.

High school students enrolled in West Ada’s CTE Construction Program built the tiny homes from the ground up, gaining real-world experience and trade skills while contributing to a mission that serves those who have served our country. The program creates a win-win opportunity supporting student skill development in Idaho’s high demand trades sector, while offering workforce housing solutions for veterans in rural communities.

“This initiative brings together students, schools, communities, and veterans in a powerful and lasting way,” said Dr. Mindi Anderson, Executive Director of the Idaho Veterans Chamber of Commerce. “By investing in our students, we’re also investing in the long-term stability and well-being of our veteran families.”

The tiny homes are designed to be placed on farms, ranches, or rural properties where veterans or their spouses may need additional housing to support workforce needs such as housing for farmhands or apprentices. This project is part of a broader Veteran Housing and Home Repair Initiative, which includes:

· The Construction Combine and Hands-on training partnerships

· Veteran-focused home repair projects across rural Idaho

· SkillBridge Project Management Internships, where transitioning service members bring critical strategic and logistical expertise to housing projects across the state

The Idaho Veterans Chamber of Commerce is also building a statewide network of contractors, volunteers, donors, and community partners who want to join the movement toward housing stability for veterans and their families. The Chamber encourages Idahoans from all walks of life to get involved by donating materials, sponsoring builds, volunteering labor, or simply spreading the word.

Applications for the Tiny Home Giveaway are open through February 1st, 2026, at 12 PM MST.

Eligible applicants must be an Idaho veteran or spouse of a veteran who is actively engaged in farming, ranching, or agricultural work and would benefit from an additional on-site housing solution. Learn more and apply at: www.idahoveterans.org/tiny-homes
